Heather Bowen is a Licensed Professional Counselor with a deep commitment to supporting individuals and families through life’s challenges. She holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Oklahoma and completed both her graduate internship and license candidacy at Restore, where she continues to serve the community.
Before entering the counseling field, Heather earned her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from the University of Oklahoma and spent 13 years teaching third grade in Norman, Oklahoma. Her background in education gives her unique insight into child development, classroom dynamics, and the emotional needs of young learners — all of which continue to inform her work with children and families in meaningful, age-appropriate ways.
Heather works with clients ages 3 and up across a wide range of concerns. She brings a gentle, affirming presence to her sessions and has experience supporting post-abortive women in their journey toward forgiveness and healing. She offers faith-based counseling upon request and is knowledgeable and sensitive to the unique needs of LGBTQ+ individuals and their families, creating a safe and inclusive space for all.
Heather’s approach is highly individualized, drawing from cognitive-behavioral strategies, mindfulness practices, and solution-focused interventions to meet each client’s specific needs. Her goal is to empower clients with tools for resilience, self-awareness, and emotional well-being.
