Rob Coffman is a Licensed Professional Counselor and board approved LPC Supervisor with over 15 years of experience in mental health care. After earning a M.ED (Master of Education) degree in Community Counseling from the University of Oklahoma in 2010, he has been licensed to practice independently in Oklahoma since 2012. He works mostly with adults, older teens, young adults, and seniors. All peoples, cultures, faiths, and lifestyles are welcome.
With training and experience in a number of therapy models and theories, Rob integrates and blends therapy methods, seeking to best serve the needs of each unique individual. His primary therapeutic influences include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, Systems Theory, Somatic therapies, Solution Focused Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing, among others. Ideally, the client and therapist work together as a team, with the counselor providing specialized skills and knowledge of behavior, and the client choosing the goals and ultimate direction of the process. Mental and Physical health are not separate issues, but parts of a whole person.
Prior to choosing a mental health care career, Rob’s experience in other professional fields, including music, municipal government, and the corporate world, contributed to a broad, open minded, and accepting perspective on life, health, and helping others.
